The Boxbot Topic
« on: June 22, 2009, 09:34:07 AM »

(From ghaelen: I did confuse things -- immensely, I see.  That other thread was just for information purposes, so Tai, I hope you don't mind I split your post off so it has it's own thread.  I do believe boxbotting is interesting enough to warrant that, lol.)

Hopefully this keeps things clear and doesn't actually cause more confusion.
Huh? Wha? /me wanders around in the dark, bumping her shins.   tease  Sorry, I just had to do that.  Ghaelen is working so hard to make things easier on everyone which is something I can identify with and try to do, myself.  This topic came about because of the Boxbot event coming up this Saturday at Eder D'Uru and my concern that the GoH newcomers might like to participate, but not know how.  So, I got this crazy idea to offer them a workshop on how to organize & save their current avatars so they could wear the boxbot avie and be able to easily change back after the event.  And, Ghaelen offered to start a new topic where discussion about this kind of thing would be appropriate.

On one hand, I'm afraid I might be trying to give y'all something that I think you might want or need, but you don't really.  On the other hand, I know how much fun these events can be and I want to give everyone the opportunity to participate.  Maybe you're not interested in trying out alt avies and/or maybe you would like to just come and watch everyone else be silly.  I just worry that once you get there, you'll want to join in the fun, and as we've already learned, an event is not the best time to try something new for the first time.

So, I'd like to hear what everyone thinks of the idea of having a little workshop on this (which would also include organizing outfits for human avies).  We were thinking about Noonish on Wednesday for one and then maybe another one Thursday or Friday evening.  Please post to say whether you are interested or not, and if you are interested, what day and time would be good for you.

If you will practice being fictional for a while, you will understand that fictional characters are sometimes more real than people with bodies and heartbeats.  - Richard Bach, Illusions

lolol, I did cause confusion!  aaahhhh!  Oh well, live and learn.

I will try to come to the 'create the boxbot' crash course.  laugh  Friday evening would be the best time for me, although Wednesday noonish is ok, too.  I have other plans on Saturday, but I will try to get back for the tail end of the party.  If not, I hope you all have great fun!

Not sure what to say, but I'm sure it will make sense to someone when I finally say it.

Now if I could just meet that person.

I'm definitely interested, Tai--as much for learning to deal with the human clothing (in which I am sadly inept  Roll Eyes ) as for the boxbot options.  I can't come to the party this Saturday, either; have a RL thing that afternoon.  And a dinner date Friday night, so I can't come to that workshop, but pretty sure I can do the Wednesday noonish one.  I take it that one is "official" now?  (Saw it included in announcements in SL.)
