Wednesday (now Sundays) Meditation Session in the GoH Outreach Retreat

The First Weekly Meditation begins in the SL Outreach Retreat on Wednesday, July 1.  This meditation will be held twice, first at 11:00am and then at 6pm, both SL time.  Each session will last for about 45 minutes, which includes seating and introduction, the meditation, and a short discussion afterward.

Each session will follow a slightly different theme, and will be held in a complementary area of the Retreat.  The sessions will be guided, most often by Ghaelen.  Notices and information will be posted here and also sent out to the GoH Retreat Group and the Eder D'uru Residents list.  

The Meditation will be conducted via voice chat; please be sure this is enabled (edit/preferences/voice chat/enable)and that your own microphone is off or muted.  There will be meditation music playing in the Retreat; you will need to press "play" to allow streaming music to play.  Please silence any sounds you may have running on your person and avoid using any gesture or animation commands during the session.  If there is to be a group animation for a particular session, you will be invited to join as the meditation begins.

Jane (Indigo) and Tailahr will also be available for questions during the meditation.  If you come in after the meditation has begun, please IM one of them with any questions.  Be aware that if you have the typing animation enabled, this may distract others.  If you must type at length, please do so before you enter the circle or quietly move out of the circle to conduct your private conversation.  

There will be music streaming in the retreat, so if you would like to listen to that and the guided meditation, Jane has suggested using half volume for the music and full volume for the voice.  You can also turn the nature sounds up and down in your music player preferences.  There will be short preludes to the meditations that allow everyone to find a seat and get comfortable.

The meditations each week will focus on a slightly different theme.  All will guide you into relaxation through breathing, yet each will add something different that you can take away with you.  Each meditation stands on its own, so if you miss one or can only join us for the occasional session you will still benefit fully from your time with us.

Dear Ms. Ghaelen,

I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the behavior of my Colleague & Associate, Mr. Felium, which has occasioned such serious Disruption to the Harmony and Peace of the Wednesday Meditations thread, and to your own Dignity & Solemnitude in re: same.  Mr. Felium has, I believe, good intentions; but the Laughter he unleashes is frequently Unrestrained & Overwhelming, & he has repeatedly refused to subject it to Proper Discipline.  (This appears to be an ongoing problem with his cats, as well.)  Unfortunately, his friend Lord Chaos has been a negative influence in this respect and, thus far, all attempts to separate the two have failed.  Mr. Felium & Lord Chaos alike remain unmoved by appeals to Reason, Logic, & Simple Decency, and continue to release Giggles, Guffaws, & Glorphs (?!) into the world unsupervised.  We hope in future to enlist the aid of Ktahdn in persuading these two Loose Cannons that Harmonic Hilarity requires Oversight, Control, & Regular Rehearsal, in order to ensure that all Parts are Properly Harmonic and that all participants understand their parts in the Harmonic Whole.

Despite the fact that this communication by Mr. Felium was completely Unauthorized by our Board of Trustees, he is correct in asserting that HHI stands & rolls ready to offer support services to the Guild of Healers, in any respect that the Healers might find helpful.  My Very Important Position at HHI, however, precludes my serving personally as Liaison, & I regret that, as we are a little shorthanded at the moment, I will have to delegate that responsibility to . . . LORD CHAOS!!!!  Please update your Contact Information.

Thank you so much for your concern on my behalf.  I must also apologize for my somewhat overreaction reaction above and elsewhere.  I was not actually laughing, I was simply unable to restrain my shock.  I realize I was instructed to make contact with you; however, my good colleague, Serious Nonsense, took me aside and advised me to take some preventative action.  I did, and in my zealousness, may have dropped a pebble in the pond, so to speak, which has created a ripple effect I did not intend and now cannot put an end to.

I am so grateful to hear that this organization is legitimate and that you are deeply involved in its foundation. I thought for one, brief, moment that CF, through HHI, had usurped Lord Chaos (our dear, dear friend and Rooftop property purveyor) and had eliminated our D'niJ Ktahdn with the intent to introduce some inappropriate amusement during our most serious meditation session on Laughter.  As you know, I take laughter very seriously, and the notion that anyone would wish to distract meditation participants from meditating on it is, in fact, disturbing to my delicate equilibrium.  I find myself releasing vast amounts of air from my lungs and making the most alarming sounds.  Not at all the type of calming sound one hears while listening to their breathing, either.  

I will take your offer of assistance under advisement.  When the time comes to prepare a future meditation on the theme of laughter, I shall certainly keep you in mind.

In an attempt to keep this Situation from snowballing and flattening nascent healing exercises, I'd like to point out that JANE is the person who came up with the name "Harmonic Hilarity, Inc" and that Convector Felium, if he is guilty of anything is guilty only of excess enthusiasm. And give the man some credit. He got Ghaelen to laugh, which is an accomplishment whose difficulty is approximately equal with getting water out of a rock. On a cold day.

Besides, I'm not sure Convector has fully recovered from, first, the stress of herding all those cats every couple of weeks... and then the sudden release from responsibility. Poor guy just doesn't know what to do with himself; whacking monsters in northern Tyria just never has fit him very well.  So, it's no wonder he jumped into HHI with both feet and created quite a splash. I think he will calm down eventually. Perhaps we need to make sure he's presented with more harmonic than hilarity...

This is the funniest thing I've read in weeks! Weeks, I tell you! Maybe even months! You must knot know Ktahdn as I know him. Asking him to constrain loose cannons just isn't in his canon. Why, I have it on good authority that his last few radio shows have been done without a plan! No playlist!

Putting Kt in charge of constraints is about like asking Ghaelen to supervise the silliness department, or asking Jane to be the security guard of the Brownie Repository. Visions of foxes and henhouses come to mind.

But then... maybe that's what you want. He somehow manages to keep things reasonably harmonic, I think... but then, I'm biased.

I have been contacted by what I believe to be legitimate contacts in your organization regarding the hilarious nature of hilarity, including propositions I feel will press pressure on sensitive funny bones likely to inappropriately erupt at many moments.  Since my nearly inaudible audible expressions of humor are little more than a tiny island revealed above the surface of a calm, serene ocean which itself blankets a vast underwater mountain, I understand if I appear to appear distant from the mainland known as "Gufawwville" mentioned in a memo I can not now locate. (This could be due to the fact it has been myself that has been dislocated; nevertheless I clearly remember the name on a paper somewhere.)

I have consulted with several consulting consultants and will inform you when any of us make some semblance of sense out of this.  I am at the moment more concerned for the loose cannons in the area than for contractual retraction or transaction or inaction, but I feel obligated to inform you of our discussions thus far.

I would advise your Affective Administrators take care near the Retreat.  I heard there is a herd of various varieties of felicitous felines cavorting about, and Serious Nonsense has assiduously attempted to assist Convector Felium in returning them to their proper places.  The attempt has thus far lacked success.

I mean, hilarity can take place anywhere, any time the felicitous felines of frolic can be safely freed. What I had in mind is being invited to add hilarity to some specific goings-on there. We'll load the whole kit and kaboodle into the balloon and raise the roof... but only when being welcomed. The rest of the time we'll work underground.

I believe we have misunderstood the misunderstanding regarding my recent departure from your favorite port of call.  I did not realize Guffawville actually existed until I happened upon a memo from you (see above) pinned to the viewer in the Outreach Retreat.  Upon reading this memo, I was immediately transported to this quaint (and noisy) little village, where I completely lost my breath for a moment as I inadvertently joined in with other inhabitants there creating the din.  As I became oriented I noticed a Cheshire smile out of the corner of my eye and I wondered if the owner of that smile wasn't having a game with all of us.  At that moment I saw a large leather boot coming up to meet my rear, which ejected me from Guffawville with full force.  

This brief summary of my encounter with the village and the smile will hopefully assist you in re-understanding the misunderstanding between us.  I was, as I have previously stated, in shock and not actually so VERY amused.  I harbor no ill will toward anyone who visits our serene Retreat, and I welcome any and all additions to events with the exception of the 30 minutes during which we hold a Very Serious Meditation Session.

Perhaps we could discuss the situation this weekend prior to a Special Serious Meditation Session I am planning to hold in the Retreat.  Could you meet with us at, say, 10:00am Pacific Time there?

Back at the retreat, dear Healers, it took me some time to recover from the shock.  For that reason, I rather overreacted.  But then I realized I had discovered the secret to that Cheshire smile, and I smiled myself (rather widely I might add).  I pocketed the memo as evidence of my discovery.  I'll admit I even laughed at his game.
