GoH shoutcast station

Hello Healers,

In response to requests to broadcast the Healers' meditations, and with the uber-generosity of Ashtar, the GoH will soon have its own shoutcast station.

Huzzah.....!  

Ashtar has called it Healers Radio Network, which itself is very cute.  Other possible catchphrases might be

Cavern Healers Radio Network
Healers UnderGround Radio
Guild of Healers Community Network
Guild of Healers Community Broadcast Service

or any number of other things.

I guess there are call letters, too, lol.  
KGOH comes to mind

Other ideas?

Edit:  Started it up today and all works well, except that when I speak it turns off the music.  That sort of undoes the very thing I'd like it to do, lol.  I think LC mentioned there was a way to broadcast both the mic and line out at the same time.  Will continue to investigate  

Edit: Edit:  Ok, got the voice bit to work.  I'll need a slightly better mic, but if I don't have one by Sunday I'll get one next week.  All my fancy - shmancy mics won't work because they are usb.  What a hoot.

Anyone up for a Test this week?  The url is healersradio.hopto.org   (Ash made that part really easy, too!)

So sorry not to respond sooner!  I do usually check the forums here every couple of days, but I think I just got busy last week & forgot.  Much more free time this coming week--I'm up for a test pretty much anytime up until Friday, then busy again until the following Monday.  (I might have to miss next Sunday's meditation, too but not sure about that, yet.)  Some evening, maybe?  Or whenever--just let me know.

It's wonderful of Ash to be (as usual!) so generous.  I think all the different names are fine, & KGOH as call letters, too--which is not very helpful, I know.  World's most indecisive person, moi.

LOL, Jane, I fell out of the loop myself this week.  Got back to polishing 'the publication'  and didn't want to stop to set up the two computers for shoutcast. 

I'm also hesitating because I need a better headset, which I'll get next week.

How about Thursday, July 29?  Sometime in the afternoon?  We'll need to test for quality and to see whether the station streams into SL well enough.

Hi hi!  Just rec'd an IM from Ghaelen about the test tomorrow at 2pm SLT and as far as I know, I should be able to make it.  Just made myself a note, but if I'm not there at a few minutes before the hour, maybe someone could send me an IM (which I'll get by e-mail), please.  kthxbai

Sorry, was posting about the time as you were posting.

Yes, how about 2pm, SL time?  Let's meet in the retreat.  I will have two compy's running, so that I can test the reception on the land server as I broadcast.  I will have a new headset, so I can test for quality of music and voice.  It will not be an 'entertainment' hour, although we will probably still laugh a lot due to all the mistakes I'll make.

Maybe Thursday afternoon about 3:00 KI Time?  That's 2:00 Retreat time.

Hi ghaelen! Glad to see you made it home safe--I heard there were tornadoes in Minnesota on Sunday(?).

I have a meeting Thursday afternoon, though--can't do a Shoutcast test then, sorry.
